House of the Dead EX is a spin off of the popular light gun game series. It is much more casual and comedic than other games in the series, and is comprised of a collection of zombie themed mini-games. Games include Zombie Bowling, Zombie Sumo, and Zombie Rock n Roll among others. The game also deviates from the photo-realistic graphics of HOD4, with cel shading used throughout the game.
House of the Dead EX is also the first House of the Dead game to include a foot pedal, with the mini-games controlled by using the gun and by using the pedal. The cabinet is a modified 2 player version of the Too Spicy cabinet
