Sega's latest Maimai cabinet is 15% larger than previous versions, and features a headphone jack, new functions and a camera for creating player icons. Maimai DX features all the songs from Maimai to Maimai Finale, as well as new colours and songs for players to enjoy. Players use the 8 buttons around the circled screen, or the touch screen directly, to hit the notes in time with the music.
Maimai DX Features
Freedom Mode
A new feature, "Freedom Mode", allows the player to play any track for 10 minutes. This mode costs 2 credits and is available after playing one game.This mode allows players to practice, as well as having unlimited play.
Touch Notes
Maimai DX has added touch notes to the existing buttons and slides.
Deluxe Tour
Players can select the tour program member by playing the song and improving the overall progress. Certain characters can be tapped in this mode, including Shama, Milk, Otto Hime, Razu and Salt.
Deluxe Pass
The Deluxe Pass is a card printed out by the machines card maker, that gives players extra benefits while playing. Players can choose the master difficulty level by extending the card to the cardmaker slot, or by extending the time of Freedom Mode. There is no limited amount of use of the card itself, but they do have an expiration date. The benefits and prices of the cards are different depending on the grade.
Friendly Match
Players can now compete against people around the world. If the player beats their opponents score, their skill points and "dan" will increase.
