The Time to Win crane operates like a standard crane except for the unique buy-in feature. After initial coin up, players are encouraged to buy additional play time. Remaining time is displayed on an LED readout on the backboard, surrounded with neon lights and colorful graphics.

Once extra time is purchased, the player can drop the claw as many times as he wants (or can) in the remaining time. Once a prize is won the player can keep playing to win another prize as long as there is time. As time runs out, the backboard display flashes and audio encourages players to keep playing and to add additional coins.

Extra time can be purchased at any time after the initial coin up, but once time runs out the player will have to start over again at the original vend price. Vend price can be set to 1, 2, or 4 coins. Time increments (original and additional), and cost of additional time can also be set.
