The new system can store games on both GD-ROM and ROM. New games under development for NAOMI 2 include Virtua Fighter X, Virtua Striker 3, Club Wagon, and Wild Riders, a motorbike game. New games based on the NAOMI 2 system are due to arrive in arcades by end 2001. It appears that existing Naomi games will also be able to run on the new system.
Given the specifications of NAOMI 2 are so advanced, there has been speculation about what the new system means for the future of Dreamcast. It will be a major job scaling back NAOMI 2 games to fit onto the Dreamcast platform.
