Gaming Expo offers the best of both worlds
On Saturday, gaming enthusiasts got their hands on the best of the past, present and future at the Austin Gaming Expo at the Austin Marriott North.
"We've got all kinds of games out here, from the ancient to the modern – 1972 all the way to the present day. There were arcade, pinball machines, console games, all types of stuff," Alex Bilstein, one of the expo's coordinators said. Retro game systems like Atari and Commodore were the highlight of the Gaming Expo.
Of course there were the new units: X-Box and Playstation II, and who could forget Dance Dance Revolution? Despite the excitement of new technology, it was the original games that drew the most attention.
"Some of the old stuff in some cases is nostalgia. People want to play something they played when they were a kid or maybe something they wanted as a kid," Mr Bilstein said.
