BayTek to Purchase Meltec Assets
BayTek officials have announced they've entered into formal negotiations with Oregon based redemption manufacturer, Meltec Inc. BayTek is looking to purchase all existing assets. BayTek owner, Larry Treankler states, "At this point we are in negotiations and there are still details that need to be worked out, however, if things remain on course, we hope to finalize a deal on time for the AMOA/Fun Expo."
When the deal is solidified, BayTek Inc. plans to relocate all Meltec assets to their Pulaski, WI based headquarters. Production would begin shortly after everything has been moved. The primary concern is making sure that the electronics are up to current BayTek standards.
Meltec's John McEwan, who served as company president for 15 years, said "This is a wonderful opportunity for BayTek and should be viewed positively by the industry. BayTek will bring its resources and its creativity to the product line and consequently produce a broader range of games."
