BCA Open 9-Ball Championships on TV
The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) recently received confirmation that the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships will receive six additional hours on ESPN2 in September and October, mostly in the early morning time slots. The tournament, held May 11-17, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV, showcased the top 64 men and top 64 women players from around the world. The televised women's matches highlight the world's top three players: Allison Fisher, Karen Corr and Helena Thornfeldt. The men's matches feature excellent play among Mika Immonen, Ralf Souquet and Francisco Bustamante.
An impressive finals arena, complete with rotating sponsor boards, brings excellent exposure to the 2003 event sponsors: Billiards Digest (Presenting), Cuetec Cues (Official Cue Sponsor), Olhausen Billiard Mfg., Inc. All times of the scheduled broadcasts of the games are Eastern Daylight Times, the dates and times are subject to change. On 23 September the ESPN2 Women's Semifinals (Thornfeldt vs. Corr) will broadcast at 7am, and ESPN2 - Women's Finals (Fisher vs. Corr) at 8am. On 24 September at 7am the ESPN2 - Men's Semifinals (Immonen vs. Souquet) and at 8am ESPN2 - Men's Finals (Bustamante vs. Souquet). Finally on 29 October at 11am Men's Semifinals (Immonen vs. Souquet) and at 12pm ESPN2 - Men's Finals (Bustamante vs. Souquet).
The Riviera Hotel & Casino will host the 2004 BCA Open 9-Ball Championships May 16 – 22, 2004. Sponsorship packets will be mailed to BCA members in early September 2003.
