G2E was successful on many fronts this year with innovation in many areas plus the announcement of changes in the supplier and manufacturer field. What is evident is the buoyancy of the industry and the continued support of G2E in North America. Industry events are there not only as a way of making profits for the organisers but must feed support and investment back into the industry as well. G2E and the AGA ran a highly successful and informative programme with the associated conference and this should serve as a model for other events that perhaps take a little more than they give.
At a meeting with the organisers continued support by EGO Manufacturers and Operators Divisions was given for the event and this was reciprocated by G2E. There an increasing number of European Operators and Manufacturers who attend and exhibit at the show and more will be done to provide hospitality facilities at future events. Not only is it the traditional manufacturers that support the show as Eastern European producers are becoming more evident. This is indicative of the widening of European boundaries and the planned increase in the number of EU members.
Secretary General Chris Brammer said, "The new Operators Division has provided much needed new blood and shows that the industry recognises the need for a common approach in many areas. Many of the European visitors to G2E are looking at the American model for ideas and in many cases investment for the rapidly changing European marketplace."
