ATEI will celebrate its 60th anniversary next January in some style. Alongside the show's international collection of long-term exhibitors, the London spectacular will feature at least 32 companies making their first ATEI appearance. The 32 debutantes, which are drawn from 11 countries, constitute 14 per cent of the total ATEI exhibitor base and will occupy 1,025 square metres (11,029sq.ft.) of stand space – just less than 10 per cent of the show floor.
One organisation certain to make an impact at ATEI 2004 is Games Media. The company, which was formed in April of this year by Global Games' Andrew Ludlow and former Maygay chairman Roy Howell, will occupy a 160sqm. (1,722sq.ft.) stand; a statistic which makes it the 11th biggest exhibitor at ATEI.
The two-tier stand will feature the three brands which constitute Games Media, namely Global Games and Voodoo Games – both of which are involved in the Club and AWP sectors – alongside Channel 1, the games content arm acquired in July whose managing director is SWP guru Steve Murray.
Commenting on Games Media's backing of ATEI, the company's Mark Purdy said, "To all intents and purposes ATEI will mark the official launch of Games Media and its brands. All of the Games Media management team have a long association with ATEI, which means that we are able to commit to the exhibition with confidence. ATEI sets the mood for the rest of the year and there's no better place to launch a company to an international audience."
