Winner - EA Sports PGA Tour Tournament
The inaugural EA Sports PGA Tour Golf National Tournament, has been won by an East Anglian player, Duncan Smith, from Ipswich, who picks up a winners cheque for £500 with a 6 under par score on one of the tournament fantasy courses, Timber Hill. "I enjoy the multi choice player features available on the game - it's a challenge on every hole," Mr Smith said.
Mark Chilvers of Chilvers Automatics, brought the winner to Preview 2004 where he received the cheque from tournament organiser Terry Farr and his team - pictured. "Operating PGA Tour on my estate gives me a great overview of the product," said Mr Chilvers. "I am both pleased for my players and my cash box".
Neil Chinn representing the manufacturers, Maygay, spoke about their constant support whilst striving to improve all aspects of the build in the future. "We have achieved a high quality game with a great upgradeable future, new real courses, new real players as well as fantasy aspects will give PGA tour a fantastic freshness, player appeal and great shelf life for the operator," Mr Chinn said.
Mr Farr said bringing the first national tournament home is not only a relief but also a milestone for PGA Tour Golf. "We intend to constantly evolve tournaments into bigger and better things for the future," he said.
The next PGA National Tournament is the Front 6 at Scorpion Ridge.
