The JOB-Quiz idea was forwarded to Funworld by the teachers of the Polytechnic School Schwanenstadt during a visit and tour of the company building. Within only a short while, an cooperation was developed. Exactly 1,103 questions on topics to do with choice of professions and job options were developed by the teachers of the Polytechnic School Schwanenstadt and the employees of the public Job Service Centre (AMS) of Vöcklabruck. A special input page by which the questions were then entered via Internet was provided by Funworld. Funworld's games programmers converted this data base into a game based on popular quiz formats including Jokers, 50:50, time bonus etc., as known from TV. The game makes it possible for young people to obtain important information meant to make their choice of professions easier in a playful way. Last week, JOB-Quiz was introduced to the public during a press conference held in Upper Austria.
The choice of professions is one of the most deciding factors that influence young people's future. Correct information plays an important role in the decision making process. Such information is provided in a playful manner during the course of the JOB-Quiz through which pupils are automatically forced to work on this deciding topic. The educational character of games, which train knowledge as well as concentration and memory, was confirmed by renowned institutes and universities many times over. Even hospitals make use of Photo Play's games in the course of therapy.
In a first step, JOB-Quiz will be made available to young people free of charge on six terminals at the Job Service Centre Vöcklabruck, the Polytechnic School Schwanenstadt and other Polytechnic schools. A first "public performance" can be seen next week at the job information fair in Wels from 15 to 18 October. Representatives on the podium, Waltraud Breslmayr, manager of the AMS (job service) Vöcklabruck, Solon Petrowisch, Director of the Polytechnic School Schwanenstadt and Ilse Retzek, Funworld Ag's press officer, all agreed that this pilot project may be the spark to ignite similar projects in the whole of Austria. For Funworld Ag this project is not a mere image and sponsoring event, but much rather a direct thrust into the educational sector as well as the job service centres throughout Austria.
