BayTek Negotiate Licencing with Victory Lane Ideas
On the heels of their recent Meltec Inc. acquisition, BayTek has announced they are in negotiations with Victory Lane Ideas, to purchase their Stock Car Challenge and Stock Car Challenge 2. Victory Lane Ideas, out of Greer, South Carolina, is owned and operated by original designers, David Myus and Charlie Weisel.
BayTek president, Larry Treankler said, "We are still working through details, though things do appear to be on course and nearing their final stages." When an agreement is reached, BayTek intends to show the game, in its current form, at their IAAPA booth in Orlando. Their design team will have future renderings on hand for customer feedback.
Mr Treankler said Stock Car Challenge will be "a main attraction piece for the current FEC market. Beyond that, it presents an opportunity to position ourselves in alternative markets."
Victory Lane Ideas targeted theme parks with their original Stock Car Challenge, and then later designed a second version, Stock Car Challenge 2, using a smaller footprint and more versatile technology. Growing demand has encouraged Victory Lane Ideas to align with a strong, streamlined manufacturer, and BayTek fit that bill.
David Myus said, "Stock Car Challenge 2 has been extremely successful in its first year, with excellent sales, revenues, and play value. BayTek's vision of Stock Car Challenge seems parallel to ours, and their enthusiasm to take this product to the next level leads me to believe this is the right move."
Charlie Weisel said, "This agreement allows us to focus on creating innovative new products for the amusement industry."
Once a deal is solidified, BayTek intends to begin the engineering process immediately. Future configurations will include implementing their standard electronics, new cabinet design, and a new graphics package. The game will be manufactured in its entirety at their headquarters in Wisconsin. If all goes well, they are looking to have units available to ship as early as January 1, 2004.
Other new products making initial debuts at IAAPA include: Red Zone, Sky Masters, and Spin Doctor. BayTek's booth number is 4415/4215. Questions or comments can be directed to 920-822-3951.
