At a recent meeting of its steering committee in Amsterdam the organisation for European Operators originally formed in June adopted the name the European Casino Operators Association. This new body, to be registered in Brussels, initially represents some 60 casinos in Europe and has attracted great interest from potential members.
Formed to represent the individual view rather than that of any national trade body ECOA will allow the smallest and largest Operator to have an equal and powerful voice in the rapidly changing European marketplace.
Also at the meeting submissions for a Code of Conduct and Mission Statement were heard to ensure that the Association sends out a clear message regarding its ambitions and policies.
The Inaugural meeting for the association will be at ICE 2004 on the morning of 28 January where existing and new members will be invited to ratify all the proposals from the recent meeting plus elect a permanent board.
