Namco Europe has revealed it has secured a range of patents to protect the integrity of its new Pac Man Ball game - pictured and all future derivatives of the game.
The Pac Man Ball game was unveiled at this years ATEI trade show in January, and according to Namco Europe, operators have positively received the machine.
John McKenzie, Namco Europes' Sales & Commercial Director, said the fact that the company has a wide range of patents in place gives an indication of the commercial potential of this game genre. Mr McKenzie said the game has demonstrated it can work across a diverse range of locations.
"The game delivers a type of playing experience which is completely new to the market, which explains the really buoyant level of sales that have already been achieved," he said.
"The industry has been crying out for something new and here it is."
