The biennial
Park Show International of equipment & components for amusement parks, water parks & fairgrounds will hold its tenth edition from February 26 –29 2004 in Rimini's new Expo Centre.
The show, promoted by Rimini Fiera and Facto Edizioni with the sponsorship of Anesv-Agis and Unionparchi, will celebrate the event by showcasing the best and most innovative products of the steadily growing leisure and attractions market.
Owner of Facto Edizioni, Danilo Tosetto said, "Following a few difficult seasons, signs of world economic recovery now seem more convincing and this is also having positive effects on the leisure trade, which is undergoing radical changes."
"The public want increasing participation and involvement. This is why the most successful ideas nowadays are those offering less passive amusement and increasing interactivity. This is reasonably priced equipment that can pay itself off quickly and be replaced through time, thus enabling whoever buys it to always be abreast of the demand that obliges them to renew their machines every season," Mr Tosetto said.
"This perspective is leading to a transformation of the market, but not a reduction. In fact, considerable expansion can be seen towards new sectors and solutions that can only stimulate trade members to evolve," he said.
The show will feature attractions for shopping centres, mega stores, multiplex venues, hotels, tourist villages, museums and science centres.
Alongside the classic evergreen attractions such as merry-go-rounds, dodgems and roller coasters, Park Show International will launch new equipment that enables users to play an active role in their amusement.
Rimini Fiera Expo Centre's halls will host circuits for battery cars for the children, who will have their first spontaneous playful contact with the basics of the Highway Code.
The Park Show International will also feature "survival routes" in the form of rock climbing, Tibetan bridges and lianas for adventurers of all ages - all attractions will be fully operational and at visitors' disposal for tests.
For the first time ever, the Park Show International will be held simultaneously with ENADA Spring, with the Park Show International 2004 event covering twice the area of the previous edition.
Foreign delegations from Siberia, Denmark, United Kingdom and Finland who attended the last edition of the show have confirmed they will participate in 2004 alongside new visitors expected from South America, Ukraine, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
In conjunction with the expo, Park Show International will host a series of events offering in-depth coverage of the trade's hottest topics. Planned seminars will focus on the water park sector, which this year had a particularly positive season, and its members will discuss the importance of innovation in the leisure facilities they offer. The Show will also host the European Golden Pony Awards, which will go to the best amusement parks and most professional trade members. Representatives from over 20 nations are in the running for the 2004 edition of the Awards.
