Into the Future with Photo Play Xtreme
Photo Play will launch its new hardware and revolutionary online-games concept, Photo Play Xtreme, at the IMA in Nuremberg and the ATEI trade show in London this month.
According to Funworld Ag's Chief Executive Officer, Josef Öhlinger, online-games concepts have potential to become popular games among young people.
Mr Öhlinger said, "With Photo Play Xtreme we are launching a new era of playing within our industry."
The new hardware, the SPIRIT Xtreme - pictured - and SMART Xtreme models are additions to the popular SPIRIT and SMART series. The new machines feature pleasant back lighting with a blue light-emitting diode.
Funworld Ag's chief sales and marketing officer, Marco Huter said, "With SPIRIT Xtreme, our goal was to create an eye-catcher that automatically draws attention to itself - in the process camera lighting was optimised to ensure perfect pictures of players."
The core of the new hardware is the Powerbox Xtreme, 'a computer box with spirit.' Based on the absolutely stable operating system, Windows XP embedded, Powerbox Xtreme reinforces games fun with five times the power and speed and makes three-dimensional games graphics possible.
The new Powerbox Xtreme fits into every Photo Play terminal of the Xtreme series, with a coloured plug-in connector system, meaning no tools required for installation.
Access to the international network is guaranteed by a DSL-connection. "This way the required technical standard of the future is assured," Mr Huter said. DSL allows the frictionless transfer of data regardless of quantity. The modular system allows several end devices such as Photo Play terminal, laptop, telephone etc. to be connected simultaneously.
Photo Play's online games concept will feature Global MASTERS international live tournaments. The online games concept allows players to play four online games simultaneously on an international scale, with players' photographs and nick names displayed on the terminals. Players are able to send messages to each other, which are automatically translated if necessary to the player's language.
Marco Huter said, "Games played against real opponents are the genuine kick. We connect people to a large players community and draw them away from anonymity. The touch screen is the game board and the network is the combined table."
The Global MASTERS international live tournaments will take place during a specified period of time and will last for a few hours or days. High score ranking lists will be continuously updated with communication available in the form of live chats.
"Without a doubt, this internationally highly motivating tournament system will bring positive impulses to our cash boxes," said Mr Huter.
"To supply operators with the necessary prerequisites for constant takings, we found it important to provide a good mix of tournament-level games for frequent players and entertaining games for players who play only now and then. For this we have developed an attractive bonus game system," he said.
In 'bonus games demo-mode' the Photo Play terminal grants free games after having stood dormant for a certain period of time. Fun guarantee ensures that a player is automatically granted a free game should he/she not have been able to achieve a minimum number of points. Collect & Play is a virtual multi-game ticket that entices players to play more often. The Global MASTERS tournament system provides its own bonus games i.e. during the first completion of a score list of ten games or the overtaking of players entered in the top-100 individual score lists.
