MEI Launches Two New Products at ICE
MEI, the leading manufacturer of payment systems, will be launching two exciting new products at ICE 2004 - the MEI Cashflow SC83 note acceptor and the MEI Cashflow Gen2 printer.
The MEI Cashflow SC Series of note acceptors have enjoyed outstanding success in the US casino market. The European version is the MEI Cashflow SC83, which will be unveiled for the first time.
MEI also recently revealed that it has teamed up with FutureLogic to distribute its ticket printers in all markets outside the US. The company will be demonstrating the MEI Cashflow Gen2 printer, which, together with the MEI Cashflow SC83, provides a complete solution for casinos interested in 'ticket in-ticket out.'
More than 90 casinos in the US have already specified MEI Cashflow SC Series note acceptors for their gaming machines. These include top casinos such as the new Borgata in Atlantic City and the Mirage in Las Vegas. MEI have been talking directly to casino operators, who can see the many benefits that note acceptors with high acceptance rates, improved security and excellent reliability can offer - not least to the bottom line.
The MEI Cashflow SC series has no less that 14 patents pending for 30 unique design features. These include:
Unique recognition and processing system. Through its 'light bar' source and lensed receivers, it scans four times more bill surface than traditional note acceptors. This data is then inputted into an advanced 100 MHz Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which uses advanced recognition algorithms to decide whether the bill or bar-code is good, making it ideal for 'Ticket-In/Ticket-Out' applications, and providing added protection against banknote fraud.
High 'attemptance' rate. The MEI Cashflow SC Series attempts to process a very high percentage of notes – whatever their condition. It can do this because of its specially designed transport system. Because it rejects less notes before scanning them, a higher proportion end up in the cash-box, thus increasing profitability.
Cutting edge transport system. The transport system features a smooth, short and tall bill path which is sealed against dust and fluid. The continuous gear-drive has 16 rollers between the acceptor and the cash-box. This leads to higher acceptance of poor notes, and a reduction in the number of jams, increasing the amount of cash in the cash-box and profitability per machine.
Ergonomically designed cash-box. Damaged cash-boxes are often the reason for notes jamming. The cash-box on the Cashflow SC series has been specifically designed to reduce this problem, increasing the uptime of machines. It is constructed of durable, high impact engineering plastic with a welded design and curved surface to protect internal mechanisms, drive gears and secure cash.
Easy access for diagnosis and upgrading. The front of the MEI Cashflow SC series provides easy diagnosis through a series of 'traffic light' LEDs similar to those used on the MEI Cashflow 9500 coin acceptor. Other features include an easily accessible USB port providing interface for support tools and upgrading. This will enable the operator to upgrade new note sets on the casino floor in a matter of seconds.
