Money Controls Breaks New Ground at ATEI 2004
It's all systems go for Money Controls at ATEI, with yet more market-leading products for secure automated money transactions on display at stand number 1130.
As the industry's only supplier of total amusement solutions, no other company can rival Money Controls' portfolio of products for notes in, coins in, coins out, tickets in, tickets out.
For ATEI 2004, Money Controls is focusing on a selection of state-of-the-art products, starting with the Lumina low-cost, fraud-resistant note/bill acceptor. Offering exceptional performance and proven value, its capacity for exceptionally high first-time acceptance rate of street-grade banknotes makes the product a winner.
With UK payment de-regulation expected to take place from January 1, visitors will be looking out for products to handle the changes affecting money peripherals. Amendments to the Gaming Act 1968 will allow players to use banknotes and smartcards on jackpot machines, and for winnings from these to be paid by either cheque, credit transferred to the player's smartcard, credit note or token redeemable by the operator. For higher value AWP machines, banknotes will be allowed for credit, with payout in banknotes and coins. Lumina is ideally-placed to meet the requirements for both new machines and retrofits.
As is the ground-breaking SR5i coin acceptor, set for its formal launch at ATEI and fully orderable at the show. The SR5i, the latest addition to the market-leading SR Series of coin acceptors, offers a real breakthrough in first time acceptance and security, thanks to its intelligent expert system AccepTelligence, resulting in incomparable acceptance levels. The use of 'Series Resonance' technology and an expert system enables an extremely high level of coin discrimination and SR coin acceptors can be configured to be backward compatible with most acceptors on the market. Changes to coin sets, new coin introductions and security upgrades are accommodated through simple reconfiguration, either locally or, with the SR5i, by true remote download for added convenience on network machines.
The SR5i will be on show alongside other products from the SR Series: the SR5 high security coin mechanism with coinless programming and excellent true coin acceptance; and the SR3 highly versatile 3.5ins coin acceptor, offering high levels of security and excellent acceptance and reliability.
A must-see at ATEI is the recently-launched PCI Card (pictured), the latest pioneering serial product from Money Controls, inventors of the industry standard protocol ccTalk. Enabling flexible and simple communication between the money processing systems and a PC, the "Intelligent Money Handling Equipment Interface" is armed with a cost-effective but powerful 16 bit micro controller which handles the time critical and complicated processes required to communicate with a range of peripherals.
The PCI Card represents a significant time and labour-saving solution to achieving compatibility with the ccTalk serial interface. This allows the user to focus on the application and speeds up time to market, saving valuable development costs. There is minimal software to write, simply plug the card directly into a PC and it will handle the ccTalk commands to manage peripherals such as note acceptors, coin acceptors and hoppers. The PCI Card is also fully upgradeable, so new peripherals can be added as they are developed, thereby future-proofing the application.
"The ccTalk PCI Card represents the way forward for games manufacturers who need a cost-effective solution to upgrading to full serial machines with the minimum requirement for new electronics and writing software," said Money Controls' Director of Marketing Simon Shorter.
"This is a highly convenient way of interfacing money handling peripherals with no need to change PC applications software and the PCI Card's micro controller supports the industry standard communication protocol."
Also on show at ATEI is Money Controls' comprehensive hopper range, including: the Compact Hopper, the industry's first choice for security, speed and reliability, and the Universal Hopper, a high capacity single denomination coin payout unit, reputed as the foundation product that established the world-wide change-giving industry. The Compact Hopper range includes two new versions: a new larger bowl, developed to hold up to 600 £1 coins, and a square bowl, which also has more capacity than the standard hopper. These meet the increasing need for greater flexibility and capacity to meet new market demands.
And last but not least, the new MC7200 supporting the previously released MC2600, now enables notes to be taken up to 72mm in width. The MC7200 in line with the MC2600 offers a robust yet sophisticated low-cost, high-performance bill acceptor and stacker with very high first time acceptance rate of street-grade bills, offering fast, trouble-free note-handling for multiple applications.
Once again Money Controls demonstrates its dynamism as a world-class provider of payment and transaction solutions. With Money Controls' unique breadth, customers can design a complete amusement system, whilst the provision of ccTalk and now the new PCI Card mean that the creation of a state-of-the-art secure money processing system has never been easier.
