Compumatic Uses Fingerprints and Radio Waves
Compumatic is a Spanish supplier of complete game kits for the amusement industry. The research and development department situated in Barcelona is constantly focusing on developing new products with the latest technology and innovative gaming software. The latest invention is to offer the option of creating a connection to an 'on-line' administration system through fingerprints or 'Contact lens cards.'
All Compumatic products can from now on be delivered with Personal Identification technology. The solution is solving the problematic and costly handling of coins in casinos or Bingo halls. Instead of inserting coins into the machine the user gets connected to an 'on-line' administration system that is keeping track of the credits paid and received. The customer can decide in what way they want to identify themself at each machine. The latest development within this field is to identify the user through a 'Fingerprint Identification' or 'Contact lens card.'
The 'Contact lens card' does not have to be inserted in any reader but can be checked from a distance through radio waves and thus avoid the common problem of worn out cards. The customer can decide if they want to have a temporary card or a reusable card. The advantage of the temporary card is that it is not connected to any personal details in the case the client wishes to stay anonymous.
The fingerprint can also be used as identification. This is made through a special scanner that is placed on the machine. The advantage is that once the fingerprint has been scanned it can be used forever avoiding the losses normally occurring with cards.
"We use our expertise to help our customers by constantly improving the technical solution and our service," said Miguel Angel Quetglas, president of Compumatic.
"Introducing the most user friendly identification methods allows for our clients to transfer more of the players away from costly money handling."
