"An absolutely phenomenal result" is how ATE Group Chairman Peter Rusbridge described this year's ATEI and ICE exhibitions in London, following publication of the organisers own attendance figures. A combined attendance of 22,099, up 6.8 per cent on the previous year, included 8,981 non-UK visitors (+9.2%) with a record-high 119 territories represented.

Peter Rusbridge said, "Exhibitors surpassed themselves once again to bring an even wider variety of products and services to this year's event, resulting in what I believe was the most vibrant showcase in the show's 60-year history."

"It's no great secret that the global sectors in which we are involved have been facing severe political, economic and social conditions over the last two years, and it's great to see manufacturers, distributors and operators using all of their technological expertise and artistic flair to respond to the challenges laid down."

"We're especially delighted by the strong levels of resolve and optimism shown by the many thousands of buyers who attended the show, many of whom travelled great distances to join us and help make the 2004 event such an historic and successful business-focused event."

"My sincere thanks go out to everyone who participated and we look forward to welcoming them back for more of the same next January." Next year's ATEI and ICE take place at London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre on 25th, 26th and 27th January 2005.
