Photo Play World Game Finalists Confirmed
Photo Play is gearing up for its World Games to be held in Alpbach, Austria, from March 25 – 28 2004, with reservations already confirmed for over 400 players.
25 million masters qualifying games were held throughout the world to form the selection of players from 20 nations who will gather in the picturesque Tyrolean mountain village and international congess centre at Alpbach to compete for the title of Photo Play World Champion.
The German national team's most ominous opponents come from Italy, France and Switzerland.
"No one can hold a candle to me in my prime discipline, Trivial Pursuit," said German champion, Uwe Garbe (Games Hall, Bender-Hammersbeck, Bremen). Mr Garbe qualified as German champion in his single discipline after a bitter challenge in over 500 games. He is also regarded a candidate for a medal in the royal discipline, the Photo Play multi-player contest.
Participants from Italy will meet in Milan to travel to the World Games together by train. In France and Spain, buses have been chartered for the players. The Austrian team will be supported by Autohaus Sonnleitner, a car company, and Sport Eybl, a sports article dealer.
Marco Huter, Funworld Ag's chief marketing and sales officer said, "An assembly of this extent can only be achieved with a strong international network such as the Photo Play NET."
"There really is no one who can surpass us in this field. In Alpbach, we will be able to hear the heart of the international community beat clearly in the form of the most engaged players. That is what I am especially looking forward to."
