Brent / Namco Secures Target: Terror
Target: Terror is the latest video game being brought to the European market by UK-based distributor Brent Sales / Namco Europe. Launched at the recent ASI show in Las Vegas by Betson Enterprises, Target: Terror is the first product from the newly established games design company, Raw Thrills, whose development team boasts a number of key players from the former video powerhouses of Midway Games, Williams Electronics and Atari.
Capturing the essence of contemporary US culture, Target: Terror challenges players through nine progressively difficult stages to save the President, defeating terrorist attacks on the Golden Gate Bridge, the Los Alamos nuclear facility and Denver International Airport, culminating in an all-out effort to rescue a hijacked airliner. Hyper-realistic graphics feature actual grafted images, rendering life-like characters, scenes and animations on a 27-inch CRT screen on the standard model and 39-inch monitors on the deluxe pedestal version. This exciting action is cleverly supplemented by a comprehensive range of operator adjustment options that allows Target: Terror the flexibility of siting in all locations, providing entertainment for adults as well as juveniles.
Brent/Namco sales and marketing director, John McKenzie was responsible for securing the new line from Betson. "Gaining distribution rights to a number of games by Midway's former development team is a major coup and we were certainly up against some stiff opposition in Vegas," he said. "I am therefore delighted that Brent-Namco's strong pedigree and unsurpassed distribution network have won through and look forward to bringing Target: Terror and other great videos from the Betson-Raw Thrills stable to the European market."
