Funworld Goes Film
Funworld Goes Film
"Funworld goes film" literally in May 2004 as it is due to host two film productions at its headquarters in Schorfling, Upper Austria. International sales manager of Funworld will see his office change into a beauty salon on May 19 for the TV film "The Healer" ("Die Heilerin"), based on Felix Mitterer's script and co-produced by the ORF and Bavarian Television. On May 24, a mere five days later, one of Funworld's meeting rooms will be the set for the decision of the future of the "Castle Hotel Orth" ("Schlosshotel Orth") popular TV series. Funworld press officer Ilse Retzek said, "The managers of the productions approached us independent of each other, simply because they noticed our building in passing from the highway."

Funworld headquarters will again appear on film in Autumn when Austria's cinemas launch a 90-minute documentary film "Good Morning Austria" ("Guten Morgen Österreich"), where ten Austrians were chosen to be filmed and followed through the course of a workday. Sonja Waidacher - pictured, a member of Funworld's marketing team, was one of the ten chosen from a casting of several hundred Austrians, and was filmed from when she woke up in the morning at home, to the Funworld office, through several meetings, telephone calls, outside appointments and throughout lunch at Funworld's staff cafeteria. Ms Retzek said she was pleased a colleague had been chosen, "We were also almost appointed for a movie production. Last summer a production team called and asked me to motivate employees to apply for a casting because we are known as an extremely interesting company." Ms Retzek said the documentary would be shown on TV soon after its launch on the big screen.
