Gamestec Staff Celebrate Thousands of Years Service
More than 2800 years of hard work in the amusement machines industry was recognised at a long-service awards ceremony for employees of Gamestec - a UK supplier of AWP, club and amusement machines. Staff who won awards travelled from Gamestec's offices throughout the UK to a gala dinner held at the York Railway Museum. The annual presentations were made by executive chairman Colin Daniels. Topping the awards this year were four members of staff each with 35 years' service. They were: Michael Harris, senior security adviser from Burton-on-Trent; Robert Pritchard, field service engineer from Bury St Edmunds; John Drew, finance manager from Leeds; and John Farmer, free-trade account manager from Lea Valley.

Nine employees received awards in honour of 30 years' service. They were: Elaine Barratt, fleet administrator, and Garry Talman, account manager, both from Burton-on-Trent; from Leeds, Douglas Green, national accounts manager, and Trevor Speake, technical project manager; from Willenhall, service engineers Bruce Joynes and Glyn Jarvis; from Warrington Ronald Chaloner, service engineer; and from Lea Valley, service engineers Ronald Taylor and Peter Sutton. More than 230 employees nationwide were presented with prizes ranging from TVs to digital camcorders to recognise service milestones from five to 35 years. Colin Daniels paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of his colleagues: "Their commitment, loyalty and enthusiasm to the company is helping us to achieve our goal of being the first choice in the provision of pay-for-play gaming and amusement equipment," he said. "I am pleased to congratulate everyone on their achievements."
