Flooding Closes Texas Amusement Park
An amusement park near Dallas is closed because of flooding. Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington closed yesterday after water surged over parts of the facility. A park spokeswoman says no injuries have been reported in the flooding from a nearby creek that overflowed due to heavy rain. She says nobody was stranded on rides, and park-goers will get rain checks so they can return another day. Fast-moving water could be seen gushing through areas of the popular entertainment complex located between Dallas and Fort Worth. Water swirled around closed rides and flowed over walkways usually crowded with thousands of summer visitors.
