Niche Changer Bolsters Pac-Man Ball
Instant Change - pictured, is a new change machine specifically designed to complement Namco's Pac-Man Ball. Following the same outline contours as the revolutionary video/pusher, the unit which is available on 2p, 10p and 20 euro cents has been developed by Ian Eason of Instance Leisure, working in conjunction with Namco Europe, to offer the most ergonomical and aesthetically-matched solution to the game's high-level coin input needs. Ian Eason, Instance Leisure's managing director, said, "The Instant Change has been designed around the success of Pac-Man Ball and can increase revenue by around 40 per cent."
The front-opening unit is housed in an ultra-high security cabinet with coin levels in both reservoir and hopper indicated at a glance. Capacity is £200 in 2p's and operator-friendly features include a hopper that can be removed without having to empty the coin reservoir, enabling the fast removal of a foreign object in the hopper.
John McKenzie, Namco's sales & commercial director, said he thinks the changer brings benefits to all parties, most significantly for operators with banks of Pac-Man Ball already sited. "Thanks to its patented high speed coin-feed mechanism, Pac-Man Ball relies heavily on players having access to a ready supply of coins. Because of its bespoke design this changer offers the most efficient delivery of a plentiful source at the point of play."
