Tsunami Visual Licenses Chassis Design from UltraCade
UltraCade Technologies today announced a licensing deal has been closed with long time customer Tsunami Visual, for use of the design patent D428,884, held by UltraCade CEO David R. Foley, and exclusively licensed by UltraCade. Foley has been one of the lead designers in the PC movement in the coin-op industry, and is the primary patent holder in the company's extensive portfolio of hardware and software intellectual property. Foley first designed a PC based system for coin-op in 1994, was one of the original members and spoke several times on behalf of the Intel Open Arcade Architecture Forum, and has lead the coin-op industries adoption of Intel based systems.
"We have made huge improvements in the coin-op industry by moving towards semi-custom solutions based around Intel's architecture," said David R. Foley, CEO of UltraCade Technologies. "We can benefit from the vast availability of components and development tools, drastically reducing costs and time to market in the coin-op industry. We have enjoyed a long relationship with Tsunami on several projects and look forward to seeing them take advantage of our expertise in this field." Chuck McMakin, Director of Product Operations for Tsunami said, "We are pleased to be working with UltraCade Technologies again. David Foley and the UltraCade team have proven to be valuable partners as Tsunami pushes our arcade PC applications in new directions. We look forward to collaborating with UltraCade Technologies on future projects and products."
