Football SWP winner with Sega's Kick ‘4' Cash
Sega Amusements Europe has released the next title for their CashCube video SWP cabinet. Combining Sega's video expertise, the success of the CashCube concept and the always popular format of a football game, Kick '4' Cash has been kicked well and truly into the market place. The first custom designed game for the CashCube will get its first public showing at the London Preview and follows on from the successful Shoot out Pool and Club Kart, both of which were successful in their own right as video arcade pieces before being transformed into SWP's. Kick '4' Cash tests the player's skills at Free Kicks – think you can do better than Beckham in Euro 2004? Now's time to prove it! Players have the chance at each stage to choose the optimum cash win versus risk. A successful shoot will also add a cash goal bonus to their prize pot. Progressive free kicks will have bigger rewards allowing the player to reach £40 in ten goals. Trackball controlled for power and direction the player must judge the gravity and curve of the ball – spin too fast and the ball may fly over the bar but too slow and the keeper may save. Features also include a 'Bonus Chance', allowing the player to play a 'joker' on one difficult goal – he can choose to double his win, get a second chance or make the defenders half the size.
"The game has been extensively tested at pub and arcade locations in the past six months with many modifications made by Japan's R&D team to get the final game just right. Average figures for the final version have been very encouraging at £300 per week," said Sega's Justin Burke. He said, "The game has captured the attention of regulars and casual player alike to make it a real success." The CashCube has proved popular with pub sector that it was specifically designed for and increasingly it is found in traditional arcade location. Its compact size, ease to operate and reliability have met Sega's original desire to have a base cabinet that will feature for many years to come. The CashCube takes up as much space as an AWP with a footprint of only 650mm x 720mm. The cabinet is fully interchangeable for upgrades and switchable for foreign currency. Previous productions of CashCube have now sold out and both Kick '4' Cash and another run of Shoot Out Pool will be available at Preview time.
