Amuse UK 2005 Set for March Show
ATE, organisers of the Amuse UK exhibition, have confirmed that the 2005 show will take place from 16 to 17 March at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool, with The Hilton once again selected as the headquarters hotel. The decision to stage the exhibition at the Norbreck Castle again was made following a complete refurbishment of the hotel and exhibition venue which has come into some heavy criticism in recent years. The £7m overhaul has made a dramatic and significant impact on the Blackpool Show venue including the building of 150 brand new bedrooms, a total facelift for all existing bedrooms, new lighting and sound, heating and air circulation and improved business facilities for visitors such as free wireless internet systems. Amuse UK Sales Manager Karen Cooke said of the Norbreck, "Exhibitors and visitors will see a real noticeable improvement at the next show following the venue's refurbishment. The Norcalympia Hall, where the exhibition takes place, will have a new dedicated entrance with a brand new car park and the hall has had a total facelift with changes including two new bar areas. This plus the overhaul in other areas of the hotel will create a much improved networking and business environment for Amuse, which we are much happier to provide our customers."
Visitors' opinions on location and venue were recently canvassed by the organisers who offered a range of alternative regions to stage the event, now entering its sixth year at Blackpool, including Manchester and Harrogate. "Nearly 60 per cent of visitors told us that they feel Blackpool is the right location for Amuse UK, however, the Norbreck Castle has been lacking in the past. We are therefore delighted with the improvements that have been made as we are now able to provide visitors with the location they want in a much-improved venue," Ms Cooke said. "Feedback from the survey also indicated that the move to March for the 2004 show was successful with the vast majority of visitors once again opting for a pre-Easter show in 2005." Amuse UK 2004 registered a 20 per cent growth in first-time visitors compared to the previous year with a number of overseas operators making the journey for the first time. Exhibitors have already begun to book space at the show and should contact ATE for more information.
