Launch of Revolution Entertainment Systems
Launch of Revolution Entertainment Systems
Leisure Link Group this month announced that, on a phased basis, it will commence its withdrawal from the manufacture of traditional AWP machines that are sold in the UK and overseas to allow a complete focus on the design, development and manufacture of networked digital equipment for the leisure, gaming and retail markets. Following the sale of the Maygay, Impulse and Extreme brands to IGT UK Ltd, production of machines for the UK under these brands will cease immediately. International production will be phased out over the next few months, ensuring that international customers receive a smooth transition to new partners and opportunities. Contract manufacturing will continue for the time being but is not part of Leisure Link's long-term strategy. As a result of these decisions, the digital design, development and manufacturing business will be re-branded and, with immediate effect, will be known as Revolution Entertainment Systems. Revolution will retain responsibility for ensuring that the existing estate of traditional machines continues to operate properly to the end of their normal lives, but its primary focus will be on innovation in digital products.

Russell Hoyle, Chief Executive, Leisure Link Group, said, "Leisure Link Group already leads the market in the design, manufacture and deployment of digital networked products. At the end of September, the Group has an installed base of 11,000 broadband connected digital products, including itbox entertainment terminals, Fixed Odds Betting terminals, THE music digital jukeboxes and Pub Casino video AWPs. We have a number of new products in development that will address
other areas of the leisure and gaming markets and, also, new markets that we have not addressed to date. It is right, therefore, to concentrate our design and manufacturing capabilities on these developments. Leisure Link remains the largest purchaser of traditional AWP products and looks forward to continuing to work closely with its base of UK games manufacturers. I am particularly pleased that Barcrest, as our largest supplier, have taken our traditional games design brands into their stable. These developments are further evidence of Leisure Link Group's commitment to the new, digital and connected market and our drive to develop radical concepts that deliver enhanced incomes for our customers."
