Germany Celebrates 100th Photo Play Club
Photo Play Clubs in Germany have seen an increase in numbers since the first club was founded in April this year, with now 100 clubs operating. According to Funworld, a Photo Play terminal with a club counts over 62% more games than a terminal without a club. To form a club in Germany, players must have access to a Photo Play Xtreme terminal and a club license, which the operator can obtain directly from the fun.net headquarters. The club license is supplied free of charge for the first year. A number of supporting and advertising materials, such as posters, stickers, lighters etc. are available for the clubs. Up to ten players can join together to form a Photo Play club, however, all club members play individually within the Global Masters, and their scores are entered into the club-ranking list. A team championship is held every three months, where the best clubs automatically qualify for further tournaments and events, such as the club championships in November. Apart from the team championships, clubs also collect points for their club for every Global Masters game played. Points collected can be exchanged for bonus gifts such as team wear, CDs or cinema tickets. Manager of fun.net Germany, Markus Gurlitt said, "The club-thought is an extremely strong motivator for the players. The challenge within a team is fundamental. The training for championships or the carrying out of long distance duels with equally minded partners provides club players with sports and fun and makes them feel part of the community."
