Surexpo 2004 took place last month from 8-10 October at Hala Ludowa in Wroclaw, Poland, where 130 companies gathered to display and view the latest amusement products. Of these, 31 companies were overseas companies, a much higher number than previous years – indicating the growing interest in the Polish amusement market. The award for the best machine went to Vegas from Opole, Poland, for its Lucky Numbers AWP. The best product this year was an 18-seat carousel from Kindermagnet-Falgas, Poland. A trend for Polish companies to manufacture their own amusement machines in preference to distributing western machines was clearly evident during Surexpo 2004.
