Merit's Rocktober Winners Announced
Merit Industries has announced it has appointed Ed Dennis as its Director of National Accounts. Mr Dennis has had considerable success in expanding business for both Rich-SeaPak and Coca Cola, and spear heading the sales and marketing efforts for Agribuys.com.
Merit Industries enjoys an installed base of over 200,000 touch-screen games garnering nearly 4.6 billion plays per year. Proving to be a popular choice among video touch screen enthusiasts, 11 Ball and Take 2 featured in last month's round of Tournamaxx competitions (Rocktober), which saw Mark Malloy from Sorrento's in Freeland, PA, earn the top score in 11Ball, while second-place winner Marlena Kelley fine-tuned her game at The Harp in Houston, TX. Sheila Williams claimed third place at the Ruby Sports Bar in Havelock NC. Ms Williams, an employee at Ruby's Sports Bar, said she enjoys the variety of Megatouch games and looks forward to each TournaMAXX competition. "The tournaments are always a big deal around here," she said. "It's a fun way to gain bragging rights over the other players" Card game enthusiasts also took center stage in "Rocktober" with Take2. Leading the way was high-scorer Robert Weaver, who played out of the Fort Lauderdale Ale House in Florida. Paramount Vending was the supplier for the winning location, while Player International, LLC provided runner-up Tom Fazio and the Bowery Grill & Pub of Canton, MI with its Megatouch. The group of honorees was rounded out in the heartland state of Indiana, where James Smith took third place from Carson's Pub in Indianapolis, home of vendor Just Darts, Inc. Local vendors Amusements R US, Vending Resources and Masengill Music Company supplied the Machines from each state; Massengill Music Company's Marc Alexander said, "The players really go all out."
Using his many years of experience, Ed will be helping Merit Industries identify the best opportunities for placement of the Mega Touch Systems in the Nation's chain restaurants as well as aiding Merit's distributors and operators in increasing their business within the coin operated industry. Of Dennis, Brian Fitzpatrick, Vice President of Merit's Business Development Sector said that they are, "making an investment in a sales professional" who will, in his appointment "accelerate our success in this significant and fast growing market segment."
