Gaming Bill Draft Deep Impact!
TSR is on record agreeing with those who believe the biggest threat to the amusements industry comes not from home video, but from the rapid global expansion of legalised gambling. Case in point: the UK's planned reform of gambling regulations, expected to take effect in 2005, could devastate the industry as new casinos demand, and get the removal of many SWP's and pusher type machines from many locations nationwide. This in turn could mean a wholesale conversion to more simulators and pure amusement. It could also mean a huge drop in machine sales and operator earnings. British trade associations meanwhile are coming in for plenty of criticism over how they have (mis) handled the whole issue.
