Immersive Display System to Premiere in March
The amusement industry will get its first glimpse at an immersive display system in March 2005 when TLC and Elumens launch their product which teams High-Tech simulation technology with a cost-effective video amusement design. The Immersive screen displays that will land on the video amusement scene are the result of high level negotiations between technology provider Elumens and veteran arcade cabinet and content manufacturer TLC Industries. Though still highly sensitive, the industry's first 'projected immersive display' cabinet will be on show to trade in March.
This is another example of the latest in commercial and military training technology crossing over into the amusement field, totally immersing the player within an all encompassing display that does not require the encumbrance of 3D glasses or goggles. The need for an 'Unachievable @ Home' experience has driven the adoption of new hardware into amusement and Elumens' technology is an engrossing new addition. The exclusive projected display technology will be previewed in a configurable cockpit cabinet, able to house a variety of games in coming trade events in March. The initial license to TLC will be followed by a series of other announcements, during the next few months, of additional licensee adoptions for the technology.
