CTO to Launch New Games and Hardware at UK Show
Catalana de Tecnologies (CTO) has chosen ATEI 2005 as the launch date for its new games and technology platform, which were developed during 2004. All of its products will be on display at the Deith Group stand at ATEI. Its products will be ready for sample evaluation and mass production during the first quarter of 2005. CTO's Draw Poker Extra Card and Diamonds video slot machines will be on display at the show. Draw Poker Extra Card features a unique 'Buy a Card' feature and a new five-reel, multi-line, multi-bet system. Diamonds is the latest video slot game in the CTO range, a five-reel video slot with multi-line and multi-bet, and playing up to nine lines with ten credits per line. The games graphics feature an antique mine setting.
New technology platforms to be revealed to the industry this week include the Pentium Based I/O Operating System embedded GCTL Board and Galaxy hardware platform. The Pentium Based I/O Operating System embedded GCTL Board has been designed to manage standard game peripherals under a game control program leaving the game programmer free of this task. The GCTL is a set of hardware resources controlled by its own internal processor, and a simple serial RS232 interface to the main game processor (standard PC or any platform with RS232 interface.) In addition to this, the GCTL board has a standard IDE interface that enables the operating system to boot from a Compact Flash memory. Galaxy is a low cost hardware platform, built on a "System on chip" for the AWP and other similar markets. Reliability, flexibility and low cost were determining factors for the development of this product. CTO will also have an open version with Windows CE and Linux embedded for development applications.
