AmEx 2005 - The 26th Irish Amusement Trade Exhibition & Seminars will be held on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 March 2005 at the Lynch Green Isle Hotel, Dublin. New opening hours will be from 11 am to 6 pm both days. Visitors from all over Ireland (and further afield)will converge on Dublin for the two most important days in the Irish Amusement Trade Calendar, combining business activity and social events. In addition to the exhibition, the event will also include a programme of seminars, meetings, business presentations and social gatherings, continuing the show's reputation for bringing together Irish and international manufacturers, distributors and operators in a businesslike atmosphere. The number of international visitors and exhibitors has increased considerably in recent years, to include companies from Britain, USA, Spain, Germany, Austria, France, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Belgium, Japan, Italy and Slovenia. There is expected to be considerable interest in gaming and many new gaming products will be shown, making this an important show from both a gaming and amusement machine point of view. On show will be a selection of gaming, amusement, novelty and redemption equipment, all of which continue to play an important role in the fast growing Irish coin-op market. Jukeboxes, pool tables, touchscreen games, pushers, cranes, kiddie rides, pinball, vending machines, currency handling equipment, spares and accessories, will all be presented by exhibitors. The Mary Openshaw Memorial Award For Excellence was inaugurated at AmEx 2004, in memory of the late Mary Openshaw, the renowned journalist who served the international amusement industry for over 35 years. The first recipient of the award was Eduardo Antoja, President of Euromat - The European Federation of Coin Machine Associations, and it was awarded to him on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of Euromat. The second recipient will be presented with the award at this year's show. The Lynch Green Isle Hotel has proved to be a popular venue with both exhibitors and visitors. Its location, just off the M50 motorway, gives easy access from all parts of Ireland and makes it the ideal venue. The hotel is currently undergoing a major building programme, including additional bedrooms and suites, a multi-storey car park, meeting rooms and a health and fitness centre. The work will be finished in mid 2005 and both exhibitors and visitors will have the use of the new facilities for the 2006 event, including a 30 percent increase in exhibition space.
