World's First Photo Play Sports Arena
The world's first Photo Play Sports Arena opened in Germany this month, described by Photo Play as the sports field for its Touch of Sports concept, with the RCA Falcons, Nuremberg's basketball professionals, holding an autograph session during the opening to support the centre's theme. The Photo Play Sports Arena is located in Nuremberg's trade market centre, 'Maximum' where Georgios Kappos has opened a restaurant, an Internet café and a bar alongside the Sports Arena with the aim to cater for the entertainment of everyone between the ages of 18 and 40.
According to Funworld, Mr Kappos currently operates Photo Play terminals following the legal regulations introduced when his location previously consisted of mainly driving simulators. "I'm really convinced by the Sports Arena. I started off with slot machines, but Photo Play has much more to offer. For me Photo Play is a terminal and it's a sport," Mr Kappos said. Government officials who attended the opening of the Photo Play Sports Arena said it was an exemplary object for youths in compliance with current laws.
Christopher Röricht, sales manager of fun.net Germany GmbH, who helped Mr Kappos to develop the Sports Arena said, "For the first time, we have a real Photo Play Sports Arena here, in other words, the sports field for our Touch of Sports concept. It is great to experience how a spark is ignited to spread like a wildfire." 54 youths participated in the tournament held on the opening day with the Sports Arena's first Photo Play club founded at 2am. The Arena will hold monthly Photo Play tournaments with prize incentives including first prize of a weekend driving a PT Cruiser sponsored by Chrysler and the first 100 players to register rewarded with tickets for the RCE Falcons' last basketball home game.
