Sega Embraces Prize Party in its Product Range
Sega Amusements Europe has announced it is pleased to have Prize Party in its product range since its recent merge with Sammy. According to the company, since the official launch of Prize Party at the London Preview last year, around 200 have been shipped into Europe, with Italy, Spain and the UK taking the bulk of them. Leon Deith of the Deith Group who is distributing the product in the UK has great praise for the product, "The simplicity but great appeal of Prize Party has made this product one that will last an operator a lifetime. We have sited them in a whole range of locations from the retail environment such as shopping mall, cinemas, and supermarkets to the traditional amusement operations, F.E.C.s, holiday parks and bowls." The eight to sixteen head-vending unit has many features and benefits that set it apart from standard vending machines. The machine features many different heads that operate from one central electric coin mech, making it easy for the player to enter one coin and choose a variety prizes up to the coin value, and great for the operator to have all the cash in one cashbox. The cash in and prize out is also fully audited and can give an instant print out of both.
The heads can all be individually priced and work through a front fill system designed to be easy for the operator. The range of heads can handle 1" – 4" capsules, stickers, trading cards, tattoos, and sweets and therefore allows the machine to appeal to a cross section of players through price, style, theme etc. The operator can build upwards from the initial eight head unit by adding further heads at a later date. The flexibility of the heads gives great branding opportunities. In particular the capsule element gives the option to theme part of or the entire machine if desired, to a particular or current licensed brand. The set up also features a bonus game every time it is played, where the machine randomly picks a head and if this matches the one just chosen by the player he gets a bonus vend. Prize Party also boasts sensor activated attraction modes, electronic coin entry and high levels of security. Max Storey, Operations Manager of UK travel terminal operator Gamegrid, who has the product on its UK airport estate said, "The Prize Party is a very reliable machine and works well in areas that are unmanned. The ability to stock it with a variety of products that appeal to all who travel through the airport is a major benefit. The print out audit system is great for head office who can stock control and order at a distance."
