Sega Europe: New Sales Manager
Sega Amusements Europe Ltd is pleased to announce the expansion of its sales team by the appointment of Maria Carmen Villarroya as Sales Manager. Maria, previously of Gaelco and Namco Europe, has tremendous sales experience in the industry and is greatly respected. Her initial task will be to oversee the launch of Sega's new multiplayer game WCCF European Championships into Spain and Italy. Further to that she will have the task of increasing market penetration.
Paul Williams, Chief Operating Officer, commented on this latest appointment, "Maria is perfectly suited to this new role, aside from the obviously advantage of being fluent in Italian and Spanish, she will bring the team a wealth of sales experience. Her knowledge of the Southern European market will bring Sega an unprecedented view of the business direct from the operator. The multiplayer format has been a pivotal product in the regeneration of arcades in Japan and we are confident that we will have a similar effect within Europe. The product is very different from traditional video and requires a great deal of promotion to educate both the players and the operators. Maria will be able to converse directly with both the operators and players in their native language to promote the game." Maria will commence her new role from September 1.
