Merit Industries Acquires Games Warehouse
Games Warehouse, the U.K.'s leading developer and manufacturer of multi-game SWP's, and Merit Industries, the worldwide leader in touchscreen entertainment, announced this month that Games Warehouse has been acquired by Merit Industries. "We are very excited to have Games Warehouse as part of the expanding Merit family," said Merit's Chief Executive Officer, David Logan. "Andy Powell, Keith Healey, and the Games Warehouse team are market leaders and outstanding game developers, and we think that the possibilities of working with them to combine technology and content are almost limitless. The two companies together will be able to bring ground-breaking new entertainment value to the market!"
"The alliance with Merit makes a lot of sense," said Games Warehouse Managing Director Andy Powell. "We can share content, enhance technology, and we can help each other logistically and operationally, all with the aim of maximising the profit opportunities for our customers." Keith Healey, Chairman of Games Warehouse, said, "I have never seen a better match between two companies. We've worked hard to build the company into a premier provider of gaming content. Harbour Group and Merit recognised the value we've built by focusing on developing the highest quality gaming experiences for our customers. We look forward to the many opportunities this new relationship creates to further accelerate our already rapid growth."
Games Warehouse is a leading developer and manufacturer of multi-game skill-with-prize terminals in the U.K., with over 3,000 units installed. Merit Industries, with a worldwide installed base in excess of 250,000 terminals, is the global leader in touchscreen entertainment. Merit Industries is majority owned by Harbour Group, a St. Louis-based private investment firm, which has significant interests in the Coin Operated Entertainment Industry, including Merit Industries, Rowe International, and Premier Tournament Operations Group, a Merit subsidiary.
