Incredible Technologies Hosts Operator Summit IV
Nearly one hundred operators descended on the beautiful Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut in early August to attend Incredible Technologies' fourth Operator Summit. The Summit is a series of educational seminars – hosted by IT staff members - that educate operators on how to maximise their earnings potential with IT products and services. The Summit began on Wednesday evening, 3 August, with a cocktail reception. Operators were treated to an open bar, magnificent food, free game play and lively conversation and camaraderie. Operators from all over the country, the industry trade press, and IT execs traded enlightening information and lively conversation throughout the evening. Thursday's seminars began at 9am with IT sales topper Don Pesceone welcoming everyone to the event. The morning was devoted to Golden Tee LIVE, beginning with a recap of the game's many revolutionary features. Particular attention was paid to LIVE's innovative income and fee split settings, a description of proper collection procedures, player accounts, and monthly billing statements. If used properly these unique game features can increase the operator's income and maximise his investment. Jeff Reed of BJ Novelty in Covington, Kentucky, who described his personal success at using the collection and split utilities to his advantage, capped off this portion of the Summit.
Following Pesceone was IT's vice president of product development, Larry Hodgson, who described many of the exciting new features on the upcoming free Golden Tee LIVE update. Larry pointed out that players would now be able to purchase new LIVE Gold Cards, operators would be able to order special gift cards, and that players would soon be able to pay for game play using credit cards. Larry also stressed the importance of making players comfortable with using a credit card for identification purposes on Golden Tee LIVE. The new update introduces a variety of videos and visual cues to emphasise security and dependability, along with the many benefits for playing online. Operators were also asked to do their best to introduce their players to the excitement and safety of online play. Other highlights related to Golden Tee LIVE included tips on maximising the wireless connection as well as descriptions of the upcoming FACTS (Free Automatic Contest & Tournament System) and Closest to the Pin promotional modes. Many operators at the Summit said they were eager to use these features and to promote the new game to their players and locations.
At lunch IT CEO Elaine Hodgson spoke to the importance of investing in new equipment and new ideas as the best way to revitalise an operator's route and the industry in general. She challenged the attendees to find a better return on their money than new and innovative equipment that is designed to attract today's players, and that also offers tools for the operator to maximise his investment. Lunchtime ended with a ceremony where a dozen outstanding operators from across the country were recognised for their achievements in supporting IT products and services. The coveted Operator of the Year award went to Jason Rubin of AJ Video Amusements of Baltimore, Maryland, for the company's commitment to its customers, players and equipment. Jason, (pictured with Senior Vice President of Sales, Don Pesceone), and his entire team continually set new precedents in promotions and incentives by cultivating a loyal player base, creating exceptional contest websites, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards.
The afternoon rounded off the Summit with descriptions of promotions and events that can maximise the earnings of IT's other best-selling games: Silver Strike Bowling and BBH Call of the Wild. Many operators gave examples of their own success stories, from simply rewarding the first player to get a 300 score on SSB, to online qualifiers using FACTS on Call of the Wild. In addition, IT's newest incarnation of its comprehensive Route Management Software, Silent Partner EX, debuted with an all-new, easy-to-navigate user interface and even more powerful reporting capabilities. Incredible Technologies created the Operator Summit in 2003, as a way to educate operators on the unique capabilities of IT's products and services in a more direct manner than an industry trade show. The next Summit is tentatively scheduled for the Phoenix area in the spring of 2006.
