Highwaygames has negotiated and secured special rates for International exhibitors at the upcoming G Star trade show. G Star is the first Korean show for the amusement industry to cover all game platforms including arcade, console and PC games, with special highlights on online and mobile games.
The first edition of this show will be held from 10-12 November, 2005 at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX), with exhibitor categories including PC/online games, wireless/mobile/PDA games, video games, arcade games, console games, peripherals, game software and technology, multimedia content, edutainment games & software and other. G Star has been planned as a premium trade exhibition for such a broad range of platforms, and is expected to rival E3.
The Korean game market has shown astronomical growth in the last few years, with its size projected to reach US$4.3 billion in 2005. Korea currently boasts 20,893 PC centers and 14,133 arcade game centers. G Star will be an excellent opportunity for International manufacturers to penetrate this thriving market.
The Korean government has recognised the nation's game industry as one of the key industries that will drive its economic growth, and has drafted numerous policies to support the industry. The G Star show is supported by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism and the Ministry of Information & Communication, and will be divided into two sections - B2B and B2C. The B2B pavilion will have a separate entrance and will be open only to industry professionals and company representatives. The B2C pavilion will be accessed by the main entrance and open to members of the public. B2B events will include trade meetings, business matchmaking, IR seminars, the Korea Game Conference and social networking events. B2C events will comprise Best Game of the Year Awards, a live game music concert, a World Game League (professional and amateur tournament), game art exhibit, new product launches and costume play.
