Interim Results Reflect Strong Trading for Talarius
Maiden interim results for Talarius plc show an operating profit of £2.3m (+6% year-on-year) on an increased turnover of £21.3m (+7%) and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation) of £4.9m (+9%). The figures, which relate to the 142 Quicksilver high street Adult Gaming Centres and the Cyberslotz interactive online gaming portal, cover the 28-week period to 16 July 2005. In a statement released to the City, Nick Harding (pictured), CEO of Talarius plc said, "It has been a successful period for the company. The acquisition of Royals, made in July, has been integrated, with significant synergies identified, giving us a strong and growing market leadership in high street AGC's. The ultimate enactment of the Gambling Act will encourage further consolidation and we have built a strong team to deliver the group's strategy in this exciting market context."

The interim results highlighted the contribution to Quicksilver profits of new products and the growing acceptance of high volume high street gaming amongst both consumers and local authorities. Talarius' interactive business continues to grow at a substantial rate with sales up over 60 per cent year-on-year. Recent market research conducted by Talarius has shown exceptionally strong levels of loyalty to the Cyberslotz brand and its site, upon which the business will capitalise through enhanced marketing and promotion.
