The 2006 software update includes benefits for professional players too. For an additional fee, players can now select the gender or skin pattern of their horses, which was a top request from players. The player-controlled ChaseCam provides players with more visibility when passing and cornering. Any race that is close also displays a photo finish. It's easy to get a new Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition machine up and running with the new operator set-up wizard that guides operators through the set-up process. Operators can control machines remotely, including the setup of local tournament, with the web-based set-up tools that 2006 supports. Operators have two more ways to earn money, including a gender and skin selection option and by making racehorse cards available for purchase.
