Breeders' Cup - Tournament Edition 2006 Software Update Now Available
UltraCade Technologies last week announced that the highly anticipated 2006 software update for the Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition product is now available. Packed with over a dozen new features and a simplified interface, the 2006 software update is a significant achievement. "By previewing the 2006 update last month at IAAPA in Atlanta, Georgia, UltraCade Technologies gained valuable feedback from our distributors, operators and customers," said David R. Foley, founder and CEO of UltraCade Technologies. "The new 2006 software update for Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition reflects this feedback, and offers operators two more ways to earn money." With the simplified interface of 2006, casual players can race competitive horses within seconds of sitting down at a Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition machine. This allows players to get excited about the game faster and offers them a chance to win. If a player is not sure how to play, the Player Coach feature automatically coaches players through the race. At the end of each race, players are offered an opportunity to buy their horse so that they can start building their own racehorse stables.

The 2006 software update includes benefits for professional players too. For an additional fee, players can now select the gender or skin pattern of their horses, which was a top request from players. The player-controlled ChaseCam provides players with more visibility when passing and cornering. Any race that is close also displays a photo finish. It's easy to get a new Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition machine up and running with the new operator set-up wizard that guides operators through the set-up process. Operators can control machines remotely, including the setup of local tournament, with the web-based set-up tools that 2006 supports. Operators have two more ways to earn money, including a gender and skin selection option and by making racehorse cards available for purchase.

Breeders' Cup – Tournament Edition 2006 software update also includes several new game features, including:
  • Three Modes of Play:
o Casual Mode – Players choose from stock horses with 50% abilities to race in a quick and exciting format.
o Career Mode – Players breed or train, feed and race their racehorses over the worldwide Head2Head network
o Compete Mode – Players compete for prizes and cash in weekly tournaments, hi-score competition or local tournaments,
  • Multiple tournament and prize capabilities,

  • Horse blankets with starting gate numbers,

  • Updated models and animations for horses and jockeys, and

  • Start notification for training exercises.
New features that are specific to operators include the following:
  • Operator notifications via email,

  • A separate volume control for race call,

  • On/off option for 1st - 4th place graphics on bottom of screen,

  • Hi-score competition positions limited to one horse, and

  • Hi-score competition score display option for operators.
