GTI EXPO 2006 took place at Hall 1, B, C and D Zones of Taipei World Trade Center last month. There were over 100 exhibitors representing more than 2,000 of the latest products at the show this year, and nearly 4,000 attendees paid visitors to the show.

GTI EXPO has entered into its 13th year. Comparing to the past years, the products exhibited at the show this year were all embracing. There included slot / reel machines, pachinslot / pachinko, crane machines, gift vending machines, redemption machines, table sport machines, kiddie rides, coin pusher machines, multi-player machines (bingo, roulette and horse racing), small-scale amusement machines (fruit games, Mario slot machines and video pokers) and accessories. Exhibitors of Taiwanese manufacturers were Subsino, IGS, Astro, Paokai, Saint-Fun International, GMS, Feiloli, Youal-Jifh Enterprise, Wee Chin and other well-known manufacturers.

According to our post-show investigation, multi-player machines, small-sized amusement machines, video games (fighting and edutainment games) were highly inquired after by buyers. The customers that contacted with the manufacturers at the show included manufacturers, distributors, exporters/importers, and operators. This showed that GTI EXPO has been regarded as a diverse and abundant exhibition.

Because of being the best and the largest game exhibition in the Asia Pacific region; the exhibitors at the show were mostly developers and there were also lots of new machines launched at the show, GTI EXPO can always attract buyers around the world to visit the show. This year, there were visitors from 50 countries on 5 continents attending the show, including those from South East Asia, Japan, Korea, Australia, Israel, India, Cyprus, Greece, Latvia, Romania, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Slovakia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Venezuela, Chile, America, Egypt, South Africa and Swaziland.

During three days of the exhibition, every manufacturer exerted all their strength to elaborate the most of the benefits of taking part in the exhibition. Besides, to intensify the decoration and the effect of displaying products, every manufacturer made the best use of their marketing strategies by presenting the latest products and holding various activities to promote their products.

Sport games were the most popular machines at the show. Shooting games, Pump It Up and dance machines steered up the surge of motion game machines, and they also showed irresistible charms to the youth. In order to advocate legitimate digital entertainments, all operators strived and devoted themselves to molding positive images for the game industry, especially those activities held at GTI EXPO 2006. After all those years, the efforts have gradually shown some positive effects. The competitions being held no matter at the show or on the Internet, were all being ardently supported by the youth market. This was not only an inspiration to the operators, but also revealed hope in the constant future developments of the game industry.

The center of GTI EXPO 2006 was the amazing amount of over 2,000 products being exhibited. No machine and accessory were missing at the show; buyers could get everything they need because GTI EXPO has become a one-stop-shop exhibition. Following is the profile of the machines exhibited at the show this year.

1. Music dance machines:
Music and Motion dance machines have come to the leading focus of edutainment machines these years. These kinds of games stress the coordination of the players sense and reactive abilities; they are more attractive than the static games. Companies exhibiting the music and motion game machines were IGS, which presented Percussion Master 2 and RF5; Andamiro presenting Pump It Up Zero; Kingtronic with Doogi Doogi; Shain You, presenting Shooting Master; Oussbih and their VampireNight; and Elite Electron, which presented Target Force Gold.

2. Carnival machines:
For the past 2 or 3 years, basketball games are no doubt the hottest game machines in carnival machines. The swing basket, animated screen, stylish net and ball-directing board, they have made basketball games become the most popular games in the market. Exhibitors presenting these machines were Saint-Fun (Street Basketball), Feiloli (Dream Shooter II), Pan Asia (Slam N Jam-Link), Paokai (Slam Dunk Special and Hot Shot), Tecway (Fire Ball), CLE (Power Shooter) and CYE (Battle V1). Other carnival machines displayed were Saint-Funs Happy Zoo, Andamiro's King of Hammer, Tecway's Bullet Bug, Paokai's Peekarboo 2, Entropy's and Wai Lee's boxing machines, CLE's Hockies, and Young Teams Cannon Strike-Dragon. All the above machines are FEC products and parents can accompany their children to play those machines.

3. 3D VR:
The most noticeable VR machine displayed at the show was the 6 axles VR machine, IMON Cruiser manufactured by Internet Motion Navigator Corp. IMON Cruiser was regarded as the manifestation of high technologies. In addition, Internet Motion Navigator Corp. presented their latest products of 2 axles X2 Interactive machine and 3 axles X360 Interactive machines at the show. They have smaller capacity because they were designed to accommodate the amusement locations. As to the motion theater, people waited in a long line in order to have a test drive of the machine, which showed its powerful attractions to the public. Japanese manufacturer Sega also showed its After Burner Climax along with Initial D. Many visitors were attracted to play these machines.

4. Adult gaming machines:
(1)Fruit game, slot machines, Super 8 Way, pachinko and pachinslot: Small-sized adult gaming machines are always the main force of GTI EXPO. Among the machines exhibited at this years show, 3D was the most noticeable future trend of adult gaming machines. The kinds of this machine exhibited included Flying Age and Dragon Hunter by Astro, Lucky Pirate by Micro Sova, slot machines by SYSCOM, fruit slots by Bigigo, New Sun Yu and Nippo, ShineRaiders by Korean manufacturers and Sango Warlord by GOSMIO. In addition, the booths of Subsino were being designed as a casino and collocated with their outstanding machines of Treasure Island, Crazy Soccer and Aladdin has made Subsino very conspicuous at the exhibition.
There were still other machines such as Galaxy War and Icescape Linking from IGS, pachinko and pachinslot from JT-Comatz and Lazan, Lotus from SOGEMA and Risker King and Dream 7 from Global Game.
(2) Roulette: There were Diamond Roulette from Hwei Chung, Q-Lit Roulette from Q-Lit Technology and Creator from Hai Wei.
(3) Dice machines: There were Sicbo King and Dancing Chess from GMS, and Lucky Dice from Micro Sova.
(4) Bingo and Keno machines: Keno machines that emphasized multi functions can combine games like poker, Chinese chess, Baccarat and bingo. There were luxurious keno machines from Bingotimes Tech, blowing machines from Le Chi Hwa and Baccarat from JT-Comatz.
(5) Mario slot machines: This has been regarded as one of the most important machines exported to Central and Southern America, and has gone with more copious screens and ways of play. Also, the games themed soccer to intensify culture qualities improved the monotonous screen of the games. There were machines exhibited at the show such as World Cup from San JYI Hung, Super Mario from Youal-Jifh and Overtake the Cosmos from Kwang Yi.
(6) Video poker games: Poker games have been found popular in European and western countries for centuries, and the play methods appeared to be vastly different, which is suitable for business pioneers to come up with a trial aimed at the demands of needing more playing methods aroused from different levels of games. There exhibited Lucky Poker from Micro Sova, Texas Holdem from IGS, Treasure Poker from Subsino and so on.
(7) Baccarat machines: Baccarat machines are the type of machine which is comparatively more inclined to the Chinese-based markets; the companies presenting their best-promoted products were GMS Baccarat Ball, Subsino Real Baccarat, Lidu °International-standard Baccarat and Vieworld Software Winner Treasure Poker, etc.
(8) Multi-player machines: Andamiro Bingo Show, Dai Hann Race King, Subsino Red Dog and Real Black, Lon Sheng 2357 Poker, GuangZhou Shuang Ying Spanish Bull Racing, GuangZhou Hong Ji Jurassk and similar machines equipped with the newest luxurious accessories and allowed a group of players to play with the machine at a time.

5. Kiddie Rides:
Kiddie rides are always the children's favorite. Besides the traditional function of swinging, the operators developed trail kiddie rides, moving kiddie rides and kiddie rides with screens. There exhibited Panda Train and Railstar ­Subsino, Mini Animal Train and Forest Carrousel ­Feng Yung Cheng and panda kiddie rides ­Jyuee Ang.

6. Video games:
Video games have advanced in recent years and have already gotten behind the old ways of play. The recent video games create higher values of games by touch screens and other diverse control screens, and also transmission over the Internet. There were Funny Touch of Astro and EZ Touch Luxury 2007 of IGS.

7. Crane / Prize machines:
Crane / Prize machines have always been the best and the most popular products for exporting from Taiwan. No matter big, small or any kind of claws that are needed, there is certain market share for Taiwan's crane machines. This kind of machine sells very well in Central and Southern America, South East Asia, Mainland China and some parts of Europe. There were Apollo and Catch Da Bear of Feiloli, Maxi Claw and Shining World of Paokai, Magic Box of Youal-Jifh, Enjoyment of Sheng Far, Super Toys of Zii Company, Baby Bear of Yi Eel Shang, Bubble Paradise of Sierra and all kinds of crane machines of Guan Shing.

8. Pinball bingo machines:
Pinball machines that are peculiar to Taiwanese manufacturers gradually arouse the attention of global manufacturers. However, many buyers are still looking forward to more delicate products, and this is where the Taiwanese manufacturers can seek some breakthroughs. The pinball bingo machines exhibited at the show were Partido De Futbol of Youal-Jifh, Juego De Destreza of Fu Chiang, Spider-Man of Kwang Yi, Bingo Vacation of Keaon, Super Futbol of Frolicker and Taiwan Yuanmei, and so forth. These machines are very creative and also have great potential.

9. Coin pusher machines:
There were Rave Party of Le Chi Hwa, Fantastic Fever 2 of Sume and Ami-Gyo of Pan Asia.

10. Parts and accessories:
Parts and accessories including cabinets, wire harness, push buttons, chaises, switching power supply, monitors, coin shut, coin selector, CD control board and so on are the indicative products of export for Taiwanese manufacturers. This year, there were even some industrial computer manufacturers that dabbled at game businesses and also paid their visits to GTI EXPO 2006. Manufacturers exhibiting parts and accessories were Zii Company counter meters; GeneralTouch touch screens; MJK Industrial cam locks; New Sun Yu, Wee Chin Electric, Gambinet Precision and Teeso cabinets; ICT and Validation Technology bill acceptors; Taison, Gauss, Ying Tchin, Jen Shinn and Huai I Electronics LCD monitors; Jyuee Ang and Will Join push buttons; Shang Yang and Korea's GGM motors; Win Lenk sensors; IBASE, Evalue, Lanner, Acrosser, America's Billbas and Micro-Star industrial PC board; Paokai coin changer; Coinsolve, Tong Li, Eurasia and Japan's Himecs coin selector; Chiang Tang power supply; Atouch touchscreen; Saint-Fun, Supreme Exim, Han Sen, GZ Technologies, JCM Gold (HK), EAGO, Cheng Hong, CYE and many other manufacturers exhibited all kinds of parts.

11. Others:
Micro Sova presented the Internet platforms for halls of digital entertaining games; Tommy presented Gacha machines; Melco and 777 Live Casino exhibited equipments related to casinos; Feiloli launched their latest photo sticker machines Alice In Wonderland; Saint-Fun presented coin changer; Ming Feng presented halftone printing; ZhongShan Luck & Jinying and ZhongShan G-Look presented merry-go-round; Chyh Yuan and Yuahua exhibited their tokens. Exhibitors presented all kinds of products for buyers to choose from.
