Sega Europe had a strong presence at the recently held trade show "Preview 2007" which was held in London (UK). Whilst many from Sega had anecdotally stated during the two show days that things were going well it is only now that the orders and reactions speak for themselves.

With a move upstairs to the main floor to a bigger stand the range of product was strong and varied. The two stars of the show being Afterburner Climax™ in three cabinet formats, from standard through to the impressive 3-point motion simulator, and the innovative Let's Go Jungle – a fantasy jungle adventure two player shooter. The latter of which was shown in an impressive ‘Jeep' themed theatre cabinet.

Justin Burke of Sega said, "Whilst we all knew Afterburner would be a strong seller due to its history and the sensational new cabinet formats we had no gauge for Let's Go Jungle. It's been some time since Sega produced a theatre cabinet let alone a ‘fantasy ‘gun game. To our delight it has been a winner at all the European shows."

To back up Sega's claim Steve Bryant of the Deith Group confirmed "it was a great show for us on the Sega front. Let's Go Jungle harks back to days gone by when you could leave a show with solid orders in place. It's the kind of innovative but fun game that the industry needs and we should be selling – it's a good all round game with cross player appeal".

Burke continued, "We had a three figure total production quantity that we had committed to manufacture of Let's Go Jungle - we managed 75% of that number at the show just to UK, so we are well pleased to say the least. Add on Rome and Madrid shows and ATEI, suddenly we are potentially on for 4 times original anticipation".

Aside from these two titles also causing a stir was the impressive House of the Dead 4 Special Attraction featured on the Crown Direct stand. The gigantic 3.6m x 3m attraction features a ‘theme park' ride style set up and takes players into a room literally surround by ‘sound and vision' in the form of 4.1 cinema sound and 100" screens. Some visitors had stated it was the best game they had ever experienced.

Crown's James Mansell pointed out "with the amount of uncertainty in the industry at the moment the strong Sega product stood out and was a real pull onto our stand. There was a lot of interest in the House of the Dead 4 Special Attraction and equally it continued to the Ford Racing Deluxe and Afterburner Climax™. Operators cannot invest in Section 16 now and they need to focus on other areas and we can only benefit from the current Sega line up".
