Amex 2008 boosted by international interest in Irish market
Amex 2008, the 29th Irish Gaming and Amusement Trade Exhibition, has been boosted by the recent international interest in the Irish market. The event, which will be held at the Lynch Green Isle Hotel Dublin on the 4th and 5th of March 2008, will feature a number of existing gaming machine exhibitors and new suppliers who plan to show their latest games for the Northern Ireland market.
Many international companies have been observing developments in the Irish market in recent years, with many now deciding that it is an appropriate time to introduce their equipment to the market.
The introduction of the new UK Gaming Act on the 1st of September, as well as the proposed changes to existing gaming legislation and the introduction of regulations for the growing casino sector, have all renewed interest in the Irish Market. Many people involved in the gaming, casino and betting sectors in Ireland are hopeful that the necessary legislation will finally be enacted late this year or early next year. It is believed that the new Justice Minister, Brian Lenihan, will decide what action to take to move forward the Civil Law Bill and a report from the Casino Regulation Committee when Parliament resumes.
Organisers have stated that there has already been considerable interest from suppliers of amusement, gaming and casino equipment in taking part in AmEx 2008, with organisers expecting an influx of applications once stands become available on the 1st of September.
Companies interested in taking part in AmEx 2008, who did not exhibit at AmEx 2007, should now contact the organiser as it is anticipated that the small number of stands, not taken up by existing exhibitors, will be snapped up once they become available.
