Atlus will remove 150 Arm Spirit arm wrestling machines from Japanese arcades after three players broke their arms whilst playing the game. The broken bones are the result of the mechanized arm, which players must grapple with in order to defeat their opponents.

Atlus have stated that the recall is a simple precaution, with the injuries most likely sustained by over enthusiastic players twisting their arm in an unnatural way. "The machine isn't that strong, much less so than a muscular man. Even women should be able to beat it," said Atlus spokeswoman Ayano Sakiyama. "We think that maybe some players get overexcited and twist their arms in an unnatural way," she said.

Atlus is now investigating the incidents and are checking the machines for any signs of malfunction.
