The first edition of B.E.R. (Bowling Event Rimini) has drawn to a close. The international trade show dedicated solely to bowling received very encouraging results including extremely positive feedback from exhibitors.
B.E.R. (Bowling Event Rimini) was held simultaneously with the 20th edition of ENADA Spring, one of Europe's leading expos in the coin-op sector, and the two trade shows were attended, over four days, by a total of 25,168 visitors (8.5% more than ENADA Spring 2007), of whom 2,569 were from abroad (a 5% increase).
Although not covering a huge amount of exhibit space, B.E.R. (Bowling Event Rimini) offered an almost complete, highly qualified showcase of the bowling trade, and its exhibitors included the world's major companies in this sector: Qubica-AMF, Brunswick (taking part through its Italian distributor, Si-Line), Via Bowling (participating through its distributor for Spain, Portugal and France, Carlos M.M. Teófilo), Steltronic and Switch Entertainment. Along with them, there were other lesser known companies, which are nevertheless important at European level, such as Germany's Karl Funk, Spain's Interbowling (distributor of South America's Kopp), Poland's Gemax, Ciccotti Group architecture studio and Abiprom from Milan.
Gabriella Zoni, Rimini Fiera project manager for B.E.R. and ENADA Spring, stated, "Considering that in the past a European trade show has never managed to take off, B.E.R. was a challenge for us, but it's a challenge we think we have won, thanks also to the format of combining the two expos, which created important cooperation, reflecting the trend for interaction between bowling and amusement which continues to spread throughout the world."
Danilo Tosetto of Facto Edizioni added, "Since it was the first edition, B.E.R. also had the limits of a debut event. I'm referring in particular to the fact that, although sharing the idea of the project, some of the companies taking part chose to be wary and therefore opted for small booths. However, since at the end of the show they were satisfied with the event, I think there are excellent growth possibilities for B.E.R., and this is the objective we shall start working on immediately, with the 2009 edition of the expo in mind."
For 2009, the organizers are aiming to involve a larger number of companies in the consumer product and bowling accessory sectors, and to expand the seminar section. Tosetto continued: "We are convinced that many aspects contribute to the quality of a trade show. The names and products showcased, of course, but also the ideas or considerations it creates and promotes by means of conferences and side events. This is because networking and information lead to greater professionalism among trade members. The direction we took this year seems to us to be the right one, so we shall continue to follow this road."
